He graduated from Universitas Trisakti, Indonesia and previously had been working in Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya. He then worked in Klinik Kesihatan Manir, Kuala Terengganu in Primary Care Department. Later on, he worked at Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Kuala Terengganu in Department of Epidemiology and Vector Control. He is a certified Occupational Safety & Health Doctor registered under the Department of Occupational Safety & Health Malaysia (DOSH). He has served as Medical Review Officer (AOEMM) and Approved Medical Examiners for Seafarers under Malaysia Marine Department.
